Moses is untying his sandal in front of the Burning Bush. On the lower left corner of the frame the donor of the icon is portrayed crouched in supplication.

It is not clear whether the turban worn by the donor indicates his origin or not. In any case, it is well known that Muslims too paid particular respect to Moses.

The face is painted in light colored hues that emphasize its freshness and youth. On the other hand, the hair waving in the wind express a sense of inner agitation. Lastly, even though there is an attempt to depict the landscape in a realistic fashion, it is clear that the scene takes place in a transcendental realm.
